The Milpitas Police Officers' Association was established in 1966 to represent both the sworn and non-sworn members of the Milpitas Police Department. The city of Milpitas has a population of approximately 78,000 residents. During the daytime, the population of Milpitas triples due to the expanding high-tech businesses that are located within the city limits. The Milpitas Police Officers' Association has a total of 78 sworn and 19 non-sworn dedicated members and also two interns.
