Tara James, President
Tara James is a 13 year veteran of the Milpitas Police Department, currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau as a Detective. She was elected to be the MPOA President in January of this year. Tara’s other duties include being a department polygraph examiner, field training officer, arrest and control technique instructor, bicycle officer and honor guard member. Tara enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering with various charities in Milpitas. She was recently awarded the 2015 Gene Schwab Award by the Milpitas Rotary Club for her work in the community. She has also received awards and recognition from US Rep. Mike Honda, State Senator Bob Wieckowski, Assemblyman Kansen Chu, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors President Dave Cortese and Milpitas Council Members Bob Nunez and Anthany Phan for her dedication to “Service Above Self”.
Tara is also serving as the Public Information Officer for the Fraternal Order of Police- Silicon Valley Lodge #52.
Alex Prince, Vice President
Alex was hired by the Milpitas Police Department in 2005 as a Police/Fire Dispatcher. Alex was hired as a Police Officer in 2008. Alex worked Patrol, Investigations and as a Field Training Officer.
Kevin Jackson, Treasurer
Kevin Jackson was hired as a Patrol Officer by the Milpitas Police Department in July, 2005 and was later promoted to Police Officer in January, 2006. He has served as a D.A.R.E. Instructor with the Police Community Relations Unit and as a DUI Enforcement Officer with the Traffic Safety Unit. Kevin is a Field Evidence Technician with an expertise in Arson Investigations, a member of the department’s Mobile Field Force (Riot Team), a Peer Support Team member, a Bicycle Enforcement Team member, a Field Training Officer, and a member of the department’s Honor Guard.
Kevin was named the 2013 Milpitas Police Department Employee of the Year. He received the State of California MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Hero Award in 2012 and 2013, the Santa Clara County MADD Award in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and had the most DUI arrests for the Milpitas Police Department in 2011 and 2012. Kevin was one of the first police officers in the United States to become a Certified Evidence Collection Technician specific to fire scenes through the International Association of Arson Investigators.
Kevin graduated from San Jose State University with a Masters Degree in Justice Studies. He also graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Jose State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a minor in Communication Studies. Kevin teaches Crime Scene Investigations at the annual Santa Clara County Police Explorer Academy. He also teachers Crime Scene Investigations at Fire Scenes to law enforcement officers, fire personnel, and district attorneys throughout the State of California. Kevin has been the Milpitas Police Officers Association Treasurer since 2016.
Kimberley Hagen, Secretary
Kimberley Hagen is a 22 year veteran of the Milpitas Police Department.She is was elected Secretary of the Police Association in June 2013. Kimberley has served on the association board for the last 12 years.
Kimberley is currently a Communications Training Officer and Tactical Dispatcher in the Communications Division of the police department.
Kimberley has a Bachelor's Degree in Administration of Justice with a secondary major in Health from San Jose State University.
Matt Madnick, Board Member
Matt Madnick was hired by the Milpitas Police Department in 2012 as a police officer and has primarily worked in patrol services. He also worked as a Community Service Officer at San Diego State University police department while completing his bachelors and masters degrees at the university.
Matt is currently a member of the MPD Mobile Field Force, Hostage Negotiation Team, Honor Guard, and an Arrest Control Instructor.
Amanda Gomez, Board Member
Amanda Gomez has been a member of the Milpitas Police Department since 2011. Amanda works in the Evidence and Property Unit and is a member of the California Association for Property and Evidence. Amanda currently serves a Police Evidence Technician. Amanda possesses an Associate of Science in Administration of Justice from West Valley College and enjoys being involved in MPOA functions. Amanda has served in the capacity of Board member since 2016.
Steve Parodi, Board Member
Steve Parodi was hired as a Police Officer by the Milpitas Police department in 2001. He is a graduate of San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Steve has served as a patrol/narcotic detection canine handler and as a Gang Investigator in the Special Investigations Unit. Steve is currently assigned to Patrol Services as a Field Training Officer.
Craig Solis, Board Member
Officer Craig Solis has been a Milpitas Police Officer since 2001. He is currently assigned as a Detective in the Investigation Bureau. During his tenure, he has been a DARE Officer, a High School Resource Officer, a Field Training Officer, and a Defensive Tactics Instructor. During his off time he enjoys spending time with his family and his English bulldog, Sumo.
Kita Inthasack, Board Member
Officer Inthasack graduated from SJSU with a major in Business in Marketing and Minor in Criminal Justice. Officer Inthasack joined the Milpitas Police Department as a Police Officer in November of 2006. He enjoys playing all sports but his favorite sports are basketball and football. GO WARRIORS!!
